The 2027 Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix is scheduled for 4 to 6 June 2027, on the calendar published by Formula 1 and approved by the FIA World Motor Sport Council. It will be Monaco’s first sprint weekend. For a private flyer, the race is the easy part to plan. The work is in the order of bookings: where you will watch from, where you will sleep, and whether your aircraft has somewhere to park at Nice that week.
The 2027 weekend at a glance
The race moved from its traditional late-May slot to June in 2026 and stays there in 2027. The Automobile Club de Monaco, which organises the event, has published this outline for 2027:
- Thursday 3 June: the event opens, according to the Automobile Club de Monaco.
- Friday 4 June: one Formula 1 practice session, then sprint qualifying.
- Saturday 5 June: the sprint race from midday, then qualifying for the Grand Prix in the afternoon.
- Sunday 6 June: the 84th Monaco Grand Prix.
Formula 2, Formula 3 and the Porsche Supercup run on the same weekend. Session times are published closer to the event; confirm them before fixing flight times. The sprint format means Friday now matters: with sprint qualifying on Friday and the sprint on Saturday, a Thursday arrival is the more reliable plan for anyone who wants the whole weekend.
Where you watch from decides the rest
Viewing is the first thing to settle, because it fixes which days you need to be in Monaco and how you move between venue and bed. The main options are:
- Grandstand seats, sold through the official channels of the Automobile Club de Monaco and Formula 1.
- Hospitality, from Formula 1’s own programme to terraces and suites around the circuit, with food and a fixed spot for each day.
- A yacht in Port Hercule, which overlooks part of the circuit. Race-weekend berths in the port are arranged through yacht charter brokers, usually well ahead.
- A private terrace or apartment overlooking the track, usually rented for the whole weekend.
Only the seller can confirm any of these, so buy through official channels or established providers. We request tickets, hospitality and yacht or terrace options on your behalf, and confirm only what the provider has confirmed.
Getting there: Nice under event rules
Nice Côte d’Azur (LFMN) is the usual gateway for private arrivals, and in race week it runs under tighter rules than usual. For the 2026 race, trip-support providers reported that a temporary French AIP supplement restricted Nice for around a week, and that an aircraft could land only if its ground handler had confirmed a parking stand for the full stop. Flight times also had to match allocated slots. Expect similar arrangements for 2027 and treat the stand, not the slot, as the deciding constraint.
In practice, operators handle this in one of three ways:
- Park at Nice for the weekend, if a stand is available for the whole stay. This is the simplest option and the first to fill.
- Drop and reposition. The aircraft lands, unloads and leaves for another airport, then returns on Sunday evening or Monday. This adds empty flights to the cost.
- Use another airport. Cannes-Mandelieu (LFMD) takes jets up to 35 tonnes maximum take-off weight but closes in the evening; trip-support providers also mention Toulon-Hyères and Genoa as alternatives when Nice is full, with a longer transfer.
For larger groups travelling together, our group charter page explains how a single larger aircraft compares with several smaller ones. Our Côte d’Azur and Monaco guide covers each Riviera airport in more detail.
Inside Monaco on race days
The circuit is built on Monaco’s streets, so the principality changes shape for the week. Barriers and grandstands go up in the weeks before the race, and many roads around the port, Monte Carlo and Fontvieille close or are restricted during the event, according to Monaco’s local press. That has three practical effects:
- Arrive by helicopter rather than by car where you can. Scheduled helicopter services between Nice airport and the Monaco heliport quote about seven minutes. Confirm the heliport schedule for race days, as operations around the circuit can change.
- Expect to walk. Even with a driver, the last stretch to a grandstand, terrace or the port is often on foot. Comfortable shoes and a light bag help.
- Stay close or stay on the water. A hotel inside Monaco, an apartment on the circuit, or a yacht removes the daily commute. Staying further along the coast is often more comfortable, but plan the daily transfer as carefully as the flight.
When to book what
There is no fixed rule, but the order matters more than the date:
- Viewing and hospitality, because they decide the days.
- Accommodation in or near Monaco, or the yacht.
- The flight and, with it, parking at Nice or a repositioning plan.
- Helicopter transfers, drivers and restaurant bookings for the evenings.
Leaving the aircraft until last is common and can still work, but it narrows the choice of airport and may mean a drop-and-reposition plan rather than parking.
Before and after the race
The Grand Prix sits at the start of the Riviera summer, and many guests extend the trip. A few days in Saint-Tropez or Cap Ferrat after the race, a week on a yacht from Monaco or Antibes (see our Mediterranean yacht charter guide), or an onward flight to the Greek islands all fit naturally. The film festival in Cannes ends in late May, so the two events do not overlap in 2027.
How Certified Jets helps
Certified Jets arranges your flight with a licensed operator suited to the route and the airport, and coordinates the rest of the weekend around it. For the Grand Prix that means planning the flight around Nice’s event rules, arranging the helicopter or car into Monaco, and requesting the concierge elements: tickets and hospitality through official channels, hotels, a yacht or terrace for the race, and restaurant tables for the evenings. Where needed, we can also arrange personal security through licensed local providers. Everything is subject to availability and local regulations, confirmed when you enquire.
Questions
Are the 2027 dates confirmed?
Formula 1 has published the 2027 calendar, approved by the FIA World Motor Sport Council, with Monaco on 4 to 6 June. Session times follow later. Calendars can change, so confirm the dates before booking anything non-refundable.
Can a parking stand at Nice be arranged in advance?
Only the airport and the ground handler can confirm a stand, and the operator requests it through them as early as possible. If a stand is not available for the full stay, the operator drops you and repositions the aircraft, or uses an alternative airport.
Do we need to arrive on Thursday?
Not necessarily, but with sprint qualifying on Friday and the sprint on Saturday, arriving on Thursday avoids missing the start of the weekend if a flight is delayed or slots move.
